Could You Find a Career in Gambling?

Don’t bet on it….

They say that society has to be blamed with the gambling addiction. Why is it that more people today use gambling as a means of living? Is gambling really addictive? Many small-time gambling services are available in the sidewalk and that the government doesn’t do anything about. Living in a poor society and having this business is illegal and dangerous. But how about casinos and the like? So, whether you are rich, mediocre, or poor there is no escaping for gambling.

But what is gambling and gambling addiction? Gambling is spending of money (cash) or any material things to bet in order to gain, and mostly lose, money. But what is the problem with gambling. It becomes a problem when you wager off too much and you end up losing everything you have. Yes, this happens to many people, even the poor ones, sad to say. They end up betting everything they have because of addiction.  Crazy it is but they bet on money, clothes, cars, and even their house—house and lot. Many of these gamblers end up living in the dumpster. As they say regrets come in the end.

Peer pressure may be one of the causes of gambling addiction. A group of friends went to a party and trying to have fun. There is drinking, smoking, dancing, and singing, and a game of Poker. Poker is not a bad thing. Everyone in this normal world loves Poker. Poker is fun. Poker is popular. Here comes the worst of it. The friend, out of being consumed with alcohol, because they are having fun bet money. So the others followed, bet anything they have as well. The other friends lost everything and because Poker is a game, there is a winner. Great if you win all the time, but what if you don’t. Losing all that they have, the friends went home. The sad thing about this example is that gambling, even for once becomes addicted. Avoiding what should not have happened, like losing all your money is a really sad thing. How about if they went to the casino? Casinos are fun too. They make you win but most of the time, they take away all your money! Gamblers do not call this gambling when you only bet for this time. It becomes gambling becomes repetitive. When you keep saying “no” and end up in the street walking on your way home because you just lost your car.

Betting, wagering, spending, and gambling. They are all the same. The addiction of it is so popular that it is marketed online, made into a movie, part of a burial ceremony (in poor countries), and even on the sidewalk. Gambling addiction is so preventable too. You just have to say “no” and think of other good things you can buy for your money. But this is so easy to say for someone who has not been involved in gambling. It requires psychological counseling in most gambling addicts just to get away from the addiction.
